Job Description

Our CPG client is looking for a social first Copywriter to join their team 35 hrs/week for the remainder of the year. This is primarily a remote role but the client is targeting someone who can visit their office in St. Louis, MO for onsite meetings.

The ideal Copywriter is someone excels in creative concepting, shortform storytelling, and copy editing across all major social media platforms. In this role, you'll bring concepts to life by writing engaging posts and stories that align with brand voice, platform best practices, and company guidelines. This is a highly collaborative role where you will partner closely with designers, strategists, and the internal creative team to turn ideas into polished, social ready content.

Key Responsibilities

• Write and edit copy for social posts and stories based on concepts provided by the creative director.
• Ensure tone, messaging, and creative expression remain consistent with brand and campaign direction.
• Size and adapt copy for various social platform formats and specs.
• Collaborate with art directors, designers, and strategists to optimize content for clarity, readability, accessibility, and audience engagement.
• Stay current on social trends, cultural moments, and platform behaviors to ensure content feels modern, relevant, and scroll stopping.
• Participate in weekly check-ins with the creative team.
• Track time accurately in timecard system.

Qualifications

• Strong background in social copywriting, creative concepting, and shortform storytelling.
• Expertise writing for social native formats: Reels, TikTok style captions, Stories, microcopy, and campaign integrated social messaging.
• Ability to quickly understand brand tone and stay consistent across content and channels.
• Comfort working from existing ideas or direction and elevating them with creative flair.
• Deep understanding of target audiences, social behaviors, and platform nuances.
• Strong collaboration skills - this team is tightknit, positive, and intentionally creative.
• Able to work in Central Time hours.
• Based in St. Louis or willing to travel occasionally (role is primarily remote).

In this position, you may have access to client or customer systems, confidential and/or proprietary information or data. This position is onsite and requires you to work closely with other individuals in a collaborative team environment.
