Global Product Management Director

To drive our global growth ambition, we are looking for experienced Product Management Director who will be responsible for articulating and implementing global product strategy in support of Teknor's vision/purpose. As the Global Head, you will play a critical role in shaping the organization's product portfolio and driving its success in the global market. Your strategic vision, leadership skills, and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams will be key to delivering innovative products that meet customer needs and drive business growth.

Teknor's core is organized across two value chains, and each value chain has multiple business units. Working closely with value chain global leaders, global business leaders, sales and business development leaders, and the technical team, this role will report to Senior Vice President of Value Chain. This role is part of the value chain core leadership team - it is a high impact role with high growth potential that offers an excellent opportunity in shaping Teknor's future growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Product Strategy: working across value chains, develop and execute comprehensive global product strategy in alignment with Teknor's business objectives. Focus on market and market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape will be critical to develop a product roadmap and will be critical to identifying opportunities for product innovation.
  • Product Development: collaborate with market facing teams and work closely with technical function to enable product development from concept to commercialization. Define product attributes with validated customer insight, translate customer needs into viable product concepts, develop and maintain product value concept, drive product improvements. Key focus to be on product extensions and new product developments.
  • Portfolio Management: rationalize and build a healthy portfolio of products, build product life cycle strategy to maximize product impact, manage product & product design pipeline, manage product IP.
  • Product Integration: ensure product fit and product integration in end user applications, coordinate product testing with commercial and technical teams, engage with operations for product prototyping and product ramping.
  • Maximize Product Profitability: establish value pricing and support pricing strategy in collaboration with market facing teams, maximizing profit throughout the product life cycle, rationalize product portfolio spread and optimize raw material spread. Continuously evaluate product offerings/value to maximize margins, drive product expansion though identification and evaluation of new market opportunities and new market segments.
  • Product Roadmap: build market insight for key products, understand competitive landscape, build knowledge of industry trends, define global product roadmap, drive product launch and launch plans, work cross-functionally to develop go-to-market strategy, together with marketing team develop product marketing tools and sales tools, drive product positioning for successful market penetration.
  • Team Leadership: drive functional excellence in the organization through identification and implementation of functional tools, and by building right level of competency in the product organization. Lead team of product managers, provide guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure effective execution of product initiatives and deliverables.

Profile:

  • A highly experienced product manager with a demonstrated track record of delivering successful product strategy and its execution at a global level.
  • Must have experience in rationalizing product portfolio across multiple businesses and in multiple markets.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to balance technical and commercial aspects of product management. Ability to work on market plan, business plan, and product positioning.
  • Core competencies in product analysis, portfolio analysis, product profitability, product life cycle analysis, product attribute analysis, stage gate process, market & segment strategy development, value analysis and value positioning, validating value proposition & opportunity size, voice of customer, and developing go-to-market strategy.
  • Demonstration of leadership skills through positive influence across different levels in the organization. Ability to coach and mentor teams.
  • Strong communication skills, influencing skills, and excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to collaborate effectively across all levels in organization, manage conflicts and get things done.
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to multitask and proven ability to lead/manage complex projects within timeframe.
  • Strong team player with ability to build followership and ability to work in a matrix organization.
  • B2B marketing experience.

Requirements:

  • At least 15 years of experience in product management function in multinational organization, of which at least 5 years in a global role.
  • Preferably, 10+ year of experience in specialty plastics or chemicals industry.
  • Exposure to and strong knowledge of working across global markets.
  • Experience working with international teams from the US, Europe, and Asia.
  • Cross regional and cross-cultural working experience.
  • A degree in engineering or chemistry, MBA desirable.
  • Ability to travel about 30% of time within and outside region.
