Job Description

The Human Resources team is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic intern to support day-to-day HR operations, with a strong focus on enhancing the internship program and contributing to process improvement initiatives.

Job Summary:

This internship provides a hands-on opportunity to gain well-rounded experience across key areas of Human Resources. In this role, you will support recruiting efforts, contribute to internal development initiatives, and play an active role in managing and enhancing the internship program. You will also assist with onboarding and offboarding processes while collaborating with the HR team on projects focused on improving efficiency and optimizing workflows. This position offers meaningful exposure to both the strategic and operational sides of HR, allowing you to make a direct impact while building valuable professional skills.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Support the planning and execution of internship program events, ensuring an engaging and seamless experience for participants
  • Assist with recruiting efforts, including managing the applicant tracking system, reviewing candidates, and coordinating or conducting interviews
  • Contribute to ongoing HR projects, helping improve processes and increase operational efficiency
  • Participate in intern-focused meetings and initiatives to support engagement, development, and overall experience
  • Assist with employee relations efforts, including performance tracking and internal communication within the internship program
  • Support onboarding and offboarding processes, including coordinating orientations, tracking training progress, and facilitating smooth transitions

Requirements:

  • Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
  • Currently enrolled pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Availability to work onsite in Akron, OH:
    • 16–24 hours per week during spring and fall semester
    • 30–40 hours per week during summer months

Pay: $20 per hour
