POSITION OVERVIEW

Psychiatrist - Albany, NY


Northern Rivers has an exciting opportunity for a Board Certified Psychiatrist to join our team. We have a highly competitive income, flexible to work a combination of on-site or at home via telepsychiatry, administrative support for credentialing, and state licensing and we offer malpractice insurance. this job offer is responsible for oversight of the agency's psychiatric and medical care and can be partly remote . The Board Certified Psychiatrist will provide administrative oversight of health services and provide medical care to residents.



What a Board Certified Psychiatrist can expect:

»Assure psychiatric aspects of intakes, admissions, treatment processes, psychiatric hospital transfers, and discharges are effective and coordinated with other services.

»Conduct psychiatric assessments and provide psychiatric services as necessary for residents.

»Provide continuous review and monitoring of treatment progress of cases in collaboration with case coordinators and social workers.

»Provide consultation with staff members regarding case treatment needs in programs, especially in crisis situations.

»Prescribe, monitor, and review the use of medications of youths served.

»Organize and assign psychiatric and medical on-call coverage. Arrange for back-up as needed in collaboration with the program directors. Assure compliance with the psychiatric review of all physical interventions and restraints.

»Collaborate with agency leadership abilities regarding administrative oversight of health services.

»Assure compliance with mandatory health service requirements.

»Provide consultation to program directors or their designees as needed.

»Assure children receive adequate health care.

»Assure agency leadership abilities has the information needed to support the management of psychiatric and medical care to service recipients.

»Assure the agency's psychiatric and medical services are of good quality, safe, and effective. Establish and manage quality management processes related to psychopharmacological services.

»Support the agency in establishing its electronic medical / health record.



Your Education and practice:

»New York State physicians license; completion of an APA-approved fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry.

»Must be board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (child psychiatry specialty).



What we require from you:

»Preferred the candidate is eligible for Certification by ABPN in psychiatry and in child and adolescent psychiatry.

»Two years of practice in the practice of child and adolescent psychiatry. Some practice in residential or hospital settings preferred.
