Job Description

Connect Staffing is hiring a Lumper / Loader for a plastic utensils manufacturer and distributor in Torrance, CA. This is a long-term placement position paying $16.90/hr on a Monday–Friday day shift. In this role, you will palletize finished goods — including plastic knives, forks, plates, and packaged bread — and load and unload trucks in a distribution center environment. Overtime is required as needed, so expect a consistent and active schedule.

Pay: $16.90/hr

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM; overtime required as needed

Responsibilities

• Palletize finished goods such as plastic knives, forks, plates, and packaged bread onto pallets for outbound shipment.
• Load and unload trucks at the distribution center dock.
• Move boxes by hand throughout the facility.
• Keep your work area clean and organized at the end of each shift.
• Follow safe lifting techniques when handling boxes up to 50 lbs.

Minimum Requirements

• 1+ year of experience working in a warehouse, distribution center, or similar environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience palletizing products in a manufacturing or distribution setting.
• Familiarity with pallet jack operation (manual or electric).
• Experience in a food service, consumer goods, or packaging distribution environment.
• Ability to maintain consistent productivity during a full 8-hour shift with mandatory overtime.
• Prior experience loading and unloading trucks.
• You may be a great fit if you've held any of these titles: Lumper, Loader, Warehouse Associate, Material Handler, Order Selector, Shipping and Receiving Associate, General Laborer, Warehouse Worker, Production Associate, DC Associate.

Pre-Employment Requirements

• Ability to frequently lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work at a fast pace throughout the shift.
• Steel toe shoes required (employee-provided).
• Must communicate effectively in Spanish.
