We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Technician to support maintenance and repair activities on gas and diesel reciprocating generator sets used in power generation facilities.
The technician will perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on generator engines and associated mechanical systems while ensuring safe and reliable plant operations.
This role requires hands-on experience with large industrial generator engines such as CAT, Wärtsilä, MAN, Cummins, Perkins, or similar equipment.
Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on reciprocating engine generators.
Troubleshoot mechanical systems including fuel, lubrication, cooling, turbocharger, air intake, and exhaust systems .
Conduct inspections on alternators, cooling systems, lube oil systems, fuel systems, and starting systems .
Monitor engine and generator performance parameters.
Perform vibration monitoring, oil analysis, and condition monitoring .
Diagnose equipment failures and perform repairs.
Execute maintenance activities according to OEM manuals and plant procedures .
Maintain accurate maintenance logs, inspection reports, and digital records .
Coordinate maintenance activities with plant operations to minimize downtime.
Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations for equipment failures.
Support spare parts planning and maintenance inventory.
Assist with emergency maintenance and plant troubleshooting when required.
Follow all HSE and industrial safety regulations .
Technical diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Power Plant Technology, or similar field .
3–5+ years of experience working with reciprocating generator engines .
Experience with diesel and natural gas engines .
Experience servicing engines such as:
Caterpillar
Cummins
Wärtsilä
MAN
Perkins
Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance practices .
Basic knowledge of engine control systems and plant monitoring systems .
Ability to read technical manuals and maintenance procedures.
Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office).
Ability to work shift schedules when required .
Strong commitment to industrial safety and compliance .
Experience performing engine major overhauls .
Experience in power plants or energy facilities .
Familiarity with SCADA or plant monitoring systems .
Knowledge of ISO 9001 / ISO 14001 / OHSAS safety standards .
