Optometrist (Part-Time) — Laurel Park, NC | Skilled Nursing Facility

We are seeking a part-time or full-time Optometrist to provide optometry services at Skilled Nursing Facilities in the Laurel Park area of North Carolina. This role is built for flexibility, autonomy, and meaningful patient care. You’ll focus on treating residents and providing routine foot care — without the headaches of scheduling or billing. We handle all of that so you can stay focused on patient care.

Compensation & Schedule

• As many or as few sessions as you choose
• 1099 Independent Contractor opportunity
• $30 per patient visit
• Patients per session: As many as you want
• Session-based per patient interaction
• Administrative and scheduling support included

Responsibilities

• Perform routine eye exams (visual acuity, refraction, basic ocular health)
• Diagnose and manage common conditions (cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration, dry eye)
• Prescribe and adjust eyeglasses as needed
• Provide basic medical eye care (infections, irritation, minor eye conditions)
• Prescribe and manage ophthalmic medications (eye drops, etc.)
• Document visits and maintain accurate patient records
• Coordinate care with nursing staff and facility teams
• Travel between facilities (if applicable)

Requirements

• Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree • Active state Optometry license • Strong communication skills and compassionate bedside manner
