Summary

The Joseph Barnhart Department of Orthopedic Surgery is renowned for high-quality, personalized patient care; groundbreaking musculoskeletal research; and a strong commitment to the education of future physicians and healthcare providers.

Job Duties

  • Develop and implement plans to ensure comprehensive, timely and high-quality patient care services with maximum operating efficiency.
  • Participate in college, hospital, and community outreach activities to promote the Department, Division, and BCM.
  • Deliver high quality orthopedic care to patients at Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center and Ben Taub Hospital.
  • Effectively and appropriately engage with office staff and APPs.
  • Discharge on-call obligations and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Be a collegial member in good standing of the department and all hospital medical staffs where you hold privileges.
  • Participate in clinical translational research related to your area of subspecialty expertise as appropriate.
  • Participate in quality and outcomes research as dictated by your Chairman based on departmental and College goals.

Minimum Qualifications

Desired Qualifications:
• Experience in providing medical care in an academic setting or equivalent practice.
• Experience in using an electronic medical record, EPIC preferred.
• Experience teaching in an accredited program.
• Evidence of effective communication skills in collaboration with group practice.

 

Position Qualifications:
• Medical degree from an accredited medical school.
• License to practice medicine in the State of Texas.
• Completion of orthopedic surgery residency training program certified by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education or equivalent.
• Board Certified/Eligible by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery
