Administrative Court Clerk (Part-Time)

COMPENSATION & SCHEDULE
• $20.00 per hour
• Up to 32 hours per week; flexible scheduling within Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Temporary, Part-Time (W2) with potential for permanent part-time placement next fiscal year
ROLE IMPACT
This entry-level court clerk role supports the daily administrative functions of a Justice Court. The position is designed for someone eager to learn basic court processes, case setup, and records management in a structured government environment. Success in this role means accurate data entry, organized case files, and dependable support to court staff and the public.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist with setting court cases and maintaining docket schedules
• Enter basic case information into the court’s case management system (electronic docketing and records database)
• Prepare and process routine legal documents such as citations, notices, and standard court forms
• Maintain organized electronic and paper files and provide courteous assistance to visitors and callers
Minimum Qualifications
• Prior office, clerical, or administrative experience in a professional environment
• Strong data entry and computer skills, including Microsoft Office
• Ability to learn basic court procedures, follow detailed instructions, and maintain confidentiality
Core Tools & Systems
• Court case management systems and electronic filing (e-filing) platforms
• Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel)
• Document scanning and records management systems
• Multi-line phone systems and standard office equipment
Preferred Skills
• Interest in public service, legal administration, or court operations
• Familiarity with legal terminology or government office procedures
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
