2) Python Developer Database-Focused (Platform Team)
Context
Team: Platform (internal products), not client support.
Senior profiles with 5+ years of experience
Primary And Secondary:
IS: Python developer working with databases to store, fetch, update data; outputs are
tables/records/transactions.
IS NOT: Python scripting/automation/SRE profiles focused on cron jobs, flows, task
automation, or logics without DB depth.
Must-Have Skills
Python + Database experience (hands-on).
Comfortable with SQL stacks (e.g., MySQL, SQLite, PostgreSQL) and/or NoSQL (e.g.,
MongoDB).
Libraries/tools such as SQLAlchemy, database drivers/connectors; ORM and raw SQL
proficiency.
Solid understanding of data modeling, transactions, indexes, query optimization.
Nice-to-Haves
Mixed background where candidate has done scripting before but now works
primarily with databases.
Familiar with data-access layers, migrations, and schema evolution.
Knows difference between using Pandas/Numpy for in-memory logic vs. persistence
and transactional DB work (Pandas/Numpy are fine, but role requires DB-first work).
Screen-Out Signals
Profiles primarily about automation, scripting, SRE/DevOps, cron-based jobs, ETL-only
without DB depth.
Too much emphasis on APIs + Pandas with no serious DB
CRUD/transactions/indexing.
Deliverables
Robust data layer code that persists and retrieves business logic outputs; not just logic
runners or job schedulers.
