Job Description

This skilled laborer role supports a variety of construction and production activities related to precast concrete products. You will work as part of a team to perform general and concrete labor, assist with machine operations, and complete physically demanding tasks that require heavy lifting and safe use of hand and power tools.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general construction labor tasks, including site cleanup, material handling, and basic support activities.
  • Carry out concrete labor duties such as preparing, pouring, and finishing concrete for precast products as directed.
  • Assist machine operators in the production process by supplying materials, monitoring operations, and following instructions to maintain safe and efficient workflows.
  • Operate or support operation of machinery and equipment used in the production of precast concrete structures, following all safety procedures.
  • Use hand and power tools, including carpentry tools and equipment, to measure, cut, assemble, and adjust materials as needed.
  • Read and use a tape measure accurately to ensure materials are cut and placed to correct specifications.
  • Support carpentry-related tasks associated with formwork, framing, or other structures used in concrete production.
  • Perform landscaping or grounds-related labor as needed to support overall facility and jobsite conditions.
  • Handle heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks throughout the shift while maintaining safe lifting techniques.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area by performing regular cleaning and general labor duties.
  • Follow all safety guidelines, wear required protective equipment, and report any hazards or issues to supervision.

Essential Skills

  • Proven experience in construction labor or general labor roles, particularly in a production or jobsite environment.
  • Hands-on experience working with concrete, including basic understanding of concrete labor tasks.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting and physically demanding work for extended periods.
  • Experience using hand tools safely and effectively in a construction or industrial setting.
  • Experience using power tools safely, with an understanding of basic tool operation and safety practices.
  • Basic carpentry skills, including working with wood, forms, or related materials.
  • Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately for measurements and layout.
  • Comfort working in a team-oriented environment and following directions from supervisors and machine operators.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to perform a variety of labor tasks as needed.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous experience in concrete production, precast concrete, or similar construction manufacturing environments.
  • Background in carpentry, landscaping, or related trades that involve hand and power tool use.
  • Willingness to learn machine operation and develop skills that can lead to heavy equipment operating responsibilities.
  • Interest in growing within the construction industry, including potential progression into lead or supervisory roles.
  • Ability to adapt to changing tasks and priorities while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
