Job Description and Duties

Effective July 1, 2025in accordance with the applicable Memorandum of Understanding, the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) was implemented in response to the status of the State budget. PLP 2025 requires each full-time employee in Bargaining Unit S17 , and related Excluded, Exempt and Statutory Exempt employees, will have their base salary reduced by three percent and will receive five PLP 2025 leave credits monthly through June 2027 . Salaries do not reflect the recent changes.

Under the general direction of the California Advancing and Innovating Medi-Cal (CalAIM) (NC) III (Supervisor), the CalAIM NC II is responsible for supporting the development and statewide deployment of the Integrated Substance Use Disorder Treatment (ISUDT) Program’s CalAIM Unit and other clinical initiatives at CDCR and CCHCS. The NC II provides on-going consultation and support regarding nursing practices, procedures, and standards. This position has the possibility of travel up to 50% of the time with limited notice.

This position is located in the Nursing Services Branch, which provides essential leadership and institutional support advocating positive change to promote quality in the provision of safe, efficient, and competent nursing care in all service line delivery areas, including inpatient, outpatient, specialty care, and TTA/R&R/Reception Center. Additionally, the headquarters Chief Nurse Executives provide statewide program guidance to nursing service lines at all institutions and support nursing practice through the assessment of processes, policies and procedures, protocols, clinical decision support tools, nursing curriculum and competencies, and the deployment of nursing resources to assist and support the goal of continuous quality improvement.

Up to 50 % Travel is required to institution.

The position(s) is eligible for hybrid telework, in accordance with the Statewide Telework Policy and will be required to report to the office as needed/required. The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment.
