TLC Nursing Associates, Inc. is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Psych for travel assignments in various healthcare facilities. The LPN will provide compassionate mental health care to patients in psychiatric units, behavioral health centers, and mental health facilities . This role requires strong communication skills, crisis intervention abilities, and experience in behavioral health nursing .

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care to individuals with mental health conditions.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
  • Monitor vital signs, behavioral changes, and mental status .
  • Assist in crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques.
  • Support individual and group therapy sessions as needed.
  • Educate patients and families on mental health management and coping strategies .
  • Maintain accurate and confidential medical records .
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists, RNs, and other mental health professionals .
  • Travel to various psychiatric and behavioral health facilities as needed.

Qualifications

  • Education: Completion of an accredited LPN program .
  • License: Active LPN license in the state of assignment or compact license.
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in psychiatric or behavioral health nursing preferred.
  • Skills: Strong communication, observation, and crisis intervention skills.
  • Certifications: BLS certification required; CPI or other crisis prevention certification preferred.
  • Travel Readiness: Willingness to take on travel assignments .
