Job Description

DeAngelo Contracting Services (DCS) is seeking a Welder. The ideal candidate for this position has prior welding experience and is mechanically inclined. The right person will have experience with metal fabrication.

Daily Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Assembles key components to existing vehicles at assigned workstations performing any combination of following tasks according to specifications and using hand tools power tools welding equipment and production fixtures.
• Read and interpret specifications.
• Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements
• Set up components for welding according to specifications (e.g. cut material with powered saws to match measurements)
• Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded
• Align components using calipers rulers etc. and clamp pieces
• Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical horizontal or overhead)
• Repair machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps
• Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws
• Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety
• Experience with installing crash attenuator assemblies onto existing frames/chassis a plus.
• Mechanically inclined experience with using floor jacks Oil change filter change fluid change and tire change.

Qualifications :

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Valid drivers license with 5 years of clean driving record.
• Experience in heavy truck (gas and diesel) repair.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen background and/or MVR check.
• Technical educational training in Mechanics is preferred. 
• Experience in welding/fabrication required.
• Experience working on smaller hand tools such as chainsaws trimmers and leaf blowers.
• Experience working on mowers skid steers spray equipment/ systems are a plus.
• Ability to work overtime a plus.

Pay rate: $20-30/hour depending on experience.
